Updated operating hours for pharmacies in the MidCentral region through the COVID-19 Alert levels

Immunisation is your best defence against influenza. Even fit and healthy people should consider getting the flu jab to protect themselves.

Flu vaccinations are now available at many community pharmacies.  Click on the link below to find your nearest pharmacy offering the service.

The Ministry of Health has funded pharmacies to provide free flu vaccinations for over 65 year olds, pregnant women and those who have a health condition such as diabetes of heart disease and other conditions that put you at greater risk of influenza (check with your pharmacist to see if you qualify), you can get vaccinated free at your pharmacy.

Access to the influenza vaccine was widened from 1 April 2022 to include Māori and Pacific peoples who are 55-64 years of age, for the duration of the 2022 calendar year. This is to reduce the impact of influenza to high-risk populations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
